Imperial to produce one billion litres of renewable diesel annually at Strathcona facility

Imperial’s planned renewable diesel complex near Edmonton is expected to produce more than one billion litres per year of the biofuel.

The Strathcona refinery will use locally sourced and grown feedstock, and is expected to reduce its emissions in the transportation sector by about three million tonnes per year.

Blue hydrogen will be sourced in the production of renewable diesel fuel. About 500,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide are expected to be captured each year.
