
Indigenous clean energy projects get boost from federal budget

Another $36 million for clean energy projects in First Nations, Inuit and Métis communities was provided in Monday’s federal budget.
Indigenous Clean Energy (ICE) wants Ottawa to provide $500 million to a fund to catalyze Indigenous-led clean energy projects to not only achieve environmental benefits, such as a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, but economic and social benefits as well.
Indigenous communities are seen as among the largest clean energy asset owners.
