Innovative research program gets $25.5 million

July 15, 2011, Vancouver – The Canadian government has announced $25.5 million in funding for FPInnovations' 2011–2012 Transformative Technologies Research Program.

July 15, 2011, Vancouver – The Canadian
government has announced $25.5 million in funding to FPInnovations for the
2011–2012 Transformative Technologies Research Program (TTP). The program
focuses on the development, adaptation, and deployment of emerging and
breakthrough technologies relating to forest biomass use, forest biotechnology,
nanotechnology, green chemistry, bio-materials, innovative wood-based building
systems, and information and communications technologies.

FPInnovations’ TTP research is currently
shaping the future forest industry by researching new technologies, creating
new production processes, developing new forest products and markets, and
making the industry more efficient and innovative.
