Inquest into pellet plant fatality leads to recommendations

A coroner’s inquest held this week into a 2016 death at a pellet plant in Saint-Quentin, N.B., has resulted in a number of recommendations to improve safety.

A five-person jury as well as coroner Steve Gibson heard testimony about the circumstances that lead to 17-year-old Wanny Pelletier’s fatal injuries in late 2016.

CBC reports that three recommendations were made, which will be forwarded to government for response.
