
Investigation into Houston Pellet Plant explosion points to gas buildup

A buildup of combustable gases were ignited at the dryer of the pellet plant in Houston, B.C., causing the explosion that injured four people in 2020, an investigation has found.
A WorkSafeBC report on the third-party investigation said the plant’s operating system did not provide adequate information leading up abnormal situations. The pellet plant, formerly Pinnacle Renewable Energy, is now owned by Drax.
