The Wood Pellet Association of Canada (WPAC) has organized a tour of forestry operations on B.C.’s North Coast as part of their 2022 Conference taking place this month in Vancouver. Don’t miss this chance to see one of Canada’s most beautiful destinations: Northwestern British Columbia!

Known as one of the most spectacular routes in the country, the jaw-dropping scenery from Terrace to Prince Rupert is only matched by the spirit of the communities the tour group will visit and the people they will meet.

Your journey starts with a flight from Vancouver to Terrace, B.C., on Sept. 21. The next day the group will head west to Prince Rupert and join the Port Authority for a harbour tour. They will also visit Drax’s Westview Terminal, one of the world’s largest wood pellet shipping terminals. You’ll meet the people whose passion for our sector is matched by their commitment to get Canadian wood pellets to global markets.

The Friday finale begins in the morning with a tour of Skeena Sawmills, Skeena Bioenergy and the Kitsumkalum Logistics Park, owned and operated by the Kitsumkalum First Nation. This visit will demonstrate true power of partnerships. The Nation will host a lunch for for the tour – a feast on local, wild salmon! The lunch will be followed by a special presentation by WPAC and partners to the community.

Afterwards, the tour will stop at one of the nearby forest operations where you will learn about the Nation’s approach to sustainability and the important role that pellets play in ensuring full utilization; not wasting valuable resources. From there the group will head back to the Terrace airport and return to Vancouver at approx. 8 p.m.
