Lack of understanding of technology and benefits impeding use of biogas: research

Prejudice coming from a lack of understanding of the technology and benefits of biogas production has been found to be a major barrier in the use of biogas, research has found.

People surveyed by the University of Surrey said they were concerned about foul smells from digesters or how their industrial appearance would be detrimental to the landscape.

Biogas is seen as an effective means of speeding up decarbonization and making the energy supply chain more sustainable.
