An opinion piece in the The National Post comes to the defence of loggers, who are being heralded as environmental heroes harvesting a renewable resource.

The editorial was written in response to a published letter by a logger who had left his equipment parked in a clearing in Catchacoma Forest during the summer. When he returned in the fall, he found his equipment had been extensively vandalized with tires flattened and windows smashed among the damages.

The Post‘s editorial writer emphasized that logging is vital to Canadian lives, and that the success of Canada’s post-carbon bioeconomy is dependent upon on increase in our sustainable use of wood products.
