More Ontario wood supply offers accepted
Eleven forestry companies have accepted wood supply offers from the province of Ontario.
Feb. 15, 2011 – Eleven forestry companies
have accepted wood supply offers from the province of Ontario. These are in
addition to the previously announced allocation to Atikokan Renewable Fuels.
The 11 latest allocations are estimated to create 163 new jobs and sustain 404
current jobs. The companies will use the proposed wood allocations for both
traditional and new forest products, including wood pellets and briquettes for
energy production, construction lumber, and drill core boxes and timbers for
the mining industry. The total wood supply offered to these 11 companies is
765,700 cubic metres/year. Ontario received 115 submissions under the
provincial wood supply competition from existing and new forest companies
interested in using provincially owned wood and investing in the province.

first to accept new wood supply allocations under Ontario's recent provincial
wood supply competitive process.
