Nairn Centre pellet plant gets federal support for final planning

Enaadmaagehjik (Wikwemikong Development Corporation) in northeastern Ontario is advancing final planning for a pellet plant in Nairn Centre thanks to funding from Federal Economic Development Agency for Northern Ontario (FedNor).

Enaadmaagehjik is proposing to build a 150,000 metric tonne per year pellet facility next to Interfor’s Nairn Centre sawmill.

FedNor invested $217,000 to support final planning studies and to attract an equity partner, the Manitoulin Expositer reports.
