September 21, 2009
Sep. 21, 2009, Ottawa – Canada’s largest bioenergy conference is taking place in Edmonton, Alberta, this year. The Canadian Bioenergy Association’s annual business-to-business conference and trade show will address the theme “Delivering Canada’s Biomass Economy” on October 20-22, 2009. Large-scale industries, small and medium enterprises, consultants, investors, and community leaders will provide expertise, experience, and ideas for new business development. Over 200 delegates from Canada, Sweden, Finland, China, and the United States are expected to attend.

Participants will have the opportunity for one-on-one meetings with bioenergy equipment and service providers at the trade show. The conference will wrap up with a tour of Edmonton’s advanced waste management system, which includes Enerkem Greenfield Alberta Biofuels’ municipal solid waste-to-ethanol plant, currently under construction. The tour will also visit Highmark Renewables’ feedlot manure-to-energy anaerobic digester, as well as some of Alberta Research Council’s state-of-the-art gasifiers and pyrolysers.
