Canbio conference to showcase market opportunities

Sep. 21, 2009, Ottawa – Canada’s largest bioenergy conference is taking place in Edmonton, Alberta, this year. The Canadian Bioenergy Association’s annual business-to-business conference and trade show will address the theme “Delivering Canada’s Biomass Economy” on October 20-22, 2009.

– Canada’s largest bioenergy conference is taking place in Edmonton, Alberta,
this year. The Canadian Bioenergy
Association’s
annual business-to-business conference and trade show will
address the theme “Delivering Canada’s Biomass Economy” on October 20-22,
2009. Large-scale industries,
small and medium enterprises, consultants, investors, and community leaders
will provide expertise, experience, and ideas for new business
development. Over 200 delegates
from Canada, Sweden, Finland, China, and the United States are expected to
attend.

Participants
will have the opportunity for one-on-one meetings with bioenergy equipment and
service providers at the trade show. The conference will wrap up with a tour of Edmonton’s advanced waste
management system, which includes Enerkem Greenfield Alberta Biofuels’
municipal solid waste-to-ethanol plant, currently under construction. The tour will also visit Highmark
Renewables’ feedlot manure-to-energy anaerobic digester, as well as some of
Alberta Research Council’s state-of-the-art gasifiers and pyrolysers.
