KAAPA Ethanol bids for biofuel plant

June 15, 2016 – KAAPA Ethanol of Minden, Neb has announced it is one of the companies bidding to purchase one of Abengoa Bioenergy’s four U.S. ethanol plants.

According to a story from The Grand Island Independent, KAAPA has placed an initial bid of $115 million to purchase Abengoa’s ethanol plant in Ravenna, Neb.

Abengoa has put all four of its U.S.-based ethanol plants up for sale. The three other plants are located in York, Neb., Mount Vernon, Ind. and Madison, Ill.

Initial bids for the other three plants have also been made, with BioUrja Trading LLC of Houston offering $45 million for the York plant, while Green Plains Inc. of Omaha has offered $200 million for the other two plants.
