Regulator has no authority to pre-approve NSPower biomass proposal

Aug. 24, 2009 – Nova Scotia Power Inc.’s ability to meet renewable energy targets
was thrown in question Wednesday after the province’s regulator
rejected its request to approve a proposal that would see the utility
burn waste wood to create electricity.

Under the untendered contract, the power company would buy $1
