Slow rebound seen for forest sector

Sep. 14, 2009 - Despite the expected slow recovery of the forest sector, the increasing development of bioenergy indicates that the forest industry is evolving. However, governments should take care that bioenergy policies do not hinder the use of similar resources by existing industries such as pulp and paper. These and other thoughts on the current status of the Canadian forest industry were given by Avrim Lazar, president and CEO of the Forest Products Association of Canada, in a recent address at the University of Northern British Columbia.
Sep. 14, 2009 – There is every reason to believe the severe forest sector downturn has
now reached bottom, although the recovery is going to be very slow,
says Avrim Lazar, the president and CEO of the Forest Products
