Vancouver’s green building policy gets flack from B.C. Liberals

May 2, 2017 - New policy from the City of Vancouver that sets ambitious energy efficiency and GHG reduction targets is causing a political battle between the city and provincial politicians.

B.C. Liberal candidate Andrew Wilkinson said in a new release the city “banning natural gas” is not the way to address climate change. The city said in a statement the rezoning policy is not a ban on natural gas, but instead a policy based on industry and provincial staff consultations.

B.C. is gearing up for a provincial election on May 9.
