European conference cheaper for Canadians
Registration for the 21st European Biomass Conference and Exhibition is available to Canadian companies for $1200 - instead of the normal registration price of $1300. The event runs from June 3 to June 7, 2013, in Copenhagen, and gives Canadian companies the chance to showcase their latest technologies and advancements. The event hosts roughly 2,000 industry experts and professionals.

Growing penetration of renewable energy
The percentage of electricity generated by a particular resource (penetration) of renewable energy into the electricity supply mix of several countries has been determined by the EIA. A few countries that are showing a steady growth are Portugal and in Germany. Portugal, during the first quarter, generated three-quarters of its electricity with renewable energy; and in Germany, one-fifth of all electricity was generated with renewables.

IGPC Ethanol buys ICM technology
Ontario-based IGPC Ethanol Inc. has purchased ICM’s patent-pending Selective Milling Technology, giving IGPC a license to use the technology. IGPC is one of the largest agricultural co-operatives in Ontario and will use the new technology to produce higher efficiency and capacity benefits. IGCP’s plant already produces more than 160 million litres of ethanol per year.
