NS biomass power generation facility offline after stack falls in high winds

Brooklyn Power, a biomass power generation facility in Brooklyn, N.S., is temporarily offline after high winds last week caused extensive damage to the plant and a warehouse.

According to CBC News, the winds took out the stack at the plant, and it will take months for repairs to be finished and the facility to come back online.

Energy at the plant comes from a 30-megawatt steam turbine powered by biomass.
