
Ontario wildlife reserve plans for biochar facility

Jan. 23, 2017 - Haliburton Forest and Wild Life Reserve in Ontario is planning to build a biochar facility at the site of a former sawmill and wood pellet business.

A proposal was made at the Dysart council chambers on Nov. 7.
Nina Shock, project manager of Haliburton Forest Biochar, shared details about the proposal and about the benefits of biochar with the Haliburton Echo.
“The mission of the facility is to become a global leader in green technology and renewable biomaterials through the establishment of viable sustainable systems and products,” Shock said.
