Nov 22, 2011, Potsdam, NY - A paper mill in this upper New York State town is looking to government for help as it continues its efforts to become more environmentally efficient, at a lower cost of operation.
Rep. William L. Owens toured Potsdam
Specialty Paper Inc. on Monday, a paper mill near the Canadian border, that he hopes to help obtain
federal funding for a renewable energy project.
The plant is
looking to apply for a grant that will fund the conversion of its boiler
system to burn biomass fuel, a move that could save an estimated $1
million per year in energy costs, according to a report in the Watertown Daily Times.
