May 27, 2011, Mattawa, ON – Biosila Canada
has entered into an agreement with Toronto-based Atlantic Wind & Solar to
incorporate a 500-kW solar energy system on the rooftop of its Mattawa,
northeastern Ontario, pellet plant.

"As part of our commitment to
preserving the environment, utilizing our 200,000-square-foot Mattawa plant
rooftop for a solar energy park was an obvious choice, and is right in line
with our overall business model," says Biosila chairman John Mumlek.

Under the terms of the agreement, the
energy produced from the solar plant will be sold to the Ontario Power
Authority as part of the province’s feed-in tariff program. The Biosila Complex
will produce 252,000 tons of European-standard, power-plant grade, wood pellet
fuel for the industrial, commercial, and residential biomass energy markets.
The facility is scheduled to open in 2012.

The company also plans to incorporate a 10-MW
cogeneration facility on the site, which will also be part of the province's
green energy initiative program.
