NB environment minister to speak at wood pellet forum

Nov. 1, 2017 - The Wood Pellet Association of Canada is pleased to announce that Serge Rousselle, New Brunswick’s Minister of Environment and Local Government and Attorney General will speak at the NB Wood Pellet Forum. The forum takes place Dec. 12 in Fredericton at the Crowne Plaza Lord Beaverbrook Hotel.


Rousselle was first elected to the Legislative Assembly on Sept. 22, 2014, as MLA for the Tracadie-Sheila riding. He was sworn in on Oct. 7, 2014, as Minister of Education and Early Childhood Development and Attorney General. In June 2016, he was appointed Minister of Environment and Local Government. He still serves as Attorney General. He is a member of the Priorities Board, the Jobs Board, the Legislative Instruments and Regulations Board, the Policy Board, and the Treasury Board.

Rousselle is also Chair of the Standing Committee on Law Amendments and a member of the Standing Committee on Procedure, Privileges and Legislative Officers.

Rousselle holds undergraduate degrees in political science and law from the University of Ottawa, as well as a master’s degree in law from the University of Cambridge and a doctorate in law from McGill University. From 1992 to 2014, he was a professor at the Université de Moncton faculty of law. He served as dean of the faculty from 2000 to 2004.

At the NB Wood Pellet Forum, participants will discuss opportunities to grow the New Brunswick wood pellet industry, create jobs, lower the province's energy costs and help the New Brunswick government meet its Climate Change Action Plan objectives.
