July 25, 2018 - U.K. utility Drax Group reported a 16 per cent fall in earnings in the first half of 2018 compared to the same period last year. Drax attributes the drop to two unplanned outages at its biomass units.
July 18, 2018 - WPAC had a busy week in the United Kingdom during the week of April 16 to 20. We attended two meetings with the UK government, we participated in the annual Argus Biomass 2018 conference, and a group of WPAC members visited Drax Power Station at Selby and Associated British Ports at Immingham. Immingham is one of four UK ports where Canadian wood pellets are unloaded on their way to Drax. The others are the Ports of Tyne, Hull, and Liverpool.
