June 14, 2018 - A new pellet plant could be built in South Hazelton, B.C. The proposed $45-million plant would be the largest of its kind and ship to Asia from Prince Rupert, the Terrace Standard reports.
June 12, 2018 - Pinnacle Renewable Holdings Inc. has entered into a new long-term, take-or-pay off-take contract with Hanwa Co., Ltd., a large, diversified trading company in Japan.
June 7, 2018 - SST Wireless Inc., a Canadian manufacturer of wireless industrial sensor technologies, and Pinnacle Renewable Energy Inc., a producer and distributor of wood pellets, announced the successful pilot and deployment of a new generation of wireless high temperature sensors to monitor pellet mill rollers temperatures at all Pinnacle plants.

This mission was organized by Ralph Spaans, secondary wood product specialist with the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry; Patrizia Giuliotti, trade commissioner for the Embassy of Canada to Italy; and myself.
May 29, 2018 - Pacific BioEnergy’s 350,000-tonnes per year pellet plant in Prince George, B.C., consumes up to 1,200 tonnes of fibre a day, sourced from sawmill and forest residuals as well as low-quality whole logs. A new multi-million dollar installation from Dieffenbacher allows the industrial pellet plant to reduce machine wear and access more fibre sources than ever before.
May 15, 2018 - WPAC participated on a wood pellet trade mission to Italy from Feb.19–23. This mission was organized by Ralph Spaans, secondary wood product specialist with the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry; Patrizia Giuliotti, trade commissioner for the Embassy of Canada to Italy; and myself. There were 16 participants including representatives of wood pellet producers from B.C., Ontario, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia; Ontario First Nations; banking and finance; and certification/inspection companies.
May 9, 2018 - The annual European Pellet Conference (EPC) took place in Wels, Austria from February 27 to March 1, 2018. Scott Bax of Pinnacle Renewable Energy, John Arsenault, WPAC’s Director of Market Access and Promotion, and I participated. The EPC is one of the largest annual global wood pellet events with about 560 participants. The event focusses mainly on the commercial and residential applications for wood pellets. Speakers and participants come from Europe, North America, South America, Asia, Africa and Australia.
