Pellet producers eye Alberta market

Dec. 20, 2016 - Canadian wood pellet producers are looking to the domestic market as Alberta, Saskatchewan, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick consider ways to phase out coal-fired electricity by 2030.
Wood Pellet Association of Canada executive director Gordon Murray told CBC News the infrastructure that currently exists for coal-powered electricity can be converted to run on pellets, similar to projects undertaken in Europe.
