Skeena Sawmills to add 75K-tonne pellet plant to Terrace operation

April 18, 2018 - Skeena Sawmills has confirmed its plans to construct a pellet plant at its sawmill site in Terrace, B.C., to handle the mill's residuals that are currently sent to a landfill.

Operations vice-president Roger Keery told the Terrace Standard the Vancouver-based investment company that owns Skeena Sawmills is starting up a new company called Skeena Biofuels to build and operate the pellet plant.

Construction on the 75,000 tonnes per-year plant is expected to begin in the summer, with Prodesa contracted to supply the complete line of equipment.
