Power players Amazon, Labatt sign renewable power deals in Alberta

Amazon and Labatt have signed renewable power deals in Alberta, aiming to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from their operations.

Amazon is the world’s largest corporate purchaser of renewable energy, and will acquire from a new solar project to be built by Calgary’s Greengate Power Corp. Labatt Breweries has made a power purchase agreement with Capital Power of Edmonton to purchase electricity from the company’s Enchant Solar facility in southern Alberta.

Similar announcements have been made of late by Shell, RBC and TC Energy, with each aiming to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from their operations.
