March 8, 2016 - Premier Tech’s Industrial Equipment Group (IEG) has acquired ProtoConsul. For more than 20 years, this manufacturer of automation systems from Longueuil, Que. has based its successes on cutting-edge technological expertise, specializing in the development of high-end systems for the packaging and material handling industry.

World leader in the packaging of industrial containers, IEG has quickly and steadily grown in size ever since its creation, in 1990. Having started to expand its offer in the industrial automation for the packaging and handling of rigid containers sector over the last few years, the group has been facing the ongoing need to find new competencies to complement its current team.

This acquisition of IEG’s business partner falls within the Group’s organizational and competency development plan. By joining forces with ProtoConsul, Premier Tech will integrate a highly qualified technical team, thus benefiting from relevant expertise in IEG’s targeted fields of activity.

“Premier Tech and its Industrial Equipment Group are constantly seeking new talents, competencies and technological platforms to generate organic growth. The integration of ProtoConsul perfectly aligns with this strategy. It will directly contribute to sustaining our growth,” explained Jean Bélanger, president and chief operating officer of Premier Tech.
