Protocol Biomass pellet plant one step closer

June 23, 2014, Prescott, Ont. – A proposed wood pellet plant in Prescott, Ont. is one step closer to reality after Protocol Biomass was able to secure 55 acres of property in the community’s industrial park.

in Prescott, Ont. is one step closer to reality after Protocol Biomass was able
to secure 55 acres of property in the community’s industrial park.

 

According to a report in the Brockville Recorder, Protocol
acquired the land at a cost of $10,000 per acre. But that cost could triple if
the town proceeds with its plan to extend water and sewage services to the property.

The proposed Prescott plant was first was first revealed by
Protocol in February of 2012.  The
company hopes to break ground at the newly-acquired property this fall, with an
expected completion date of July of 2015.

 

Prescott is located approximately 90km south of Ottawa , and
is directly across Lake Ontario from Ogdensburg, New York.
