Oct. 5, 2011 – Nearly one year after its
creation, the pellet group of the Quebec Wood Export Bureau (QWEB) is proud to
announce that it is now a partner in the Wood Pellet Association of Canada
(WPAC). This agreement will allow pellet group member producers to take of
WPAC’s services, including monitoring, research, information collection, and
support of the development of the entire industry. Reciprocally, WPAC will rely
on the expertise of QWEB staff’s knowledge of foreign pellet markets.

"The main objective of the group is to
strengthen the network of Quebec wood pellet producers, particularly because of
the strong competition that exists in both North American and European markets.
This is why Quebec pellet producers, like the entire Canadian wood pellet
industry, must redouble efforts to consolidate assets in local markets in
addition to increasing access to new markets overseas,” says Pierre Tremblay,
president of the QWEB pellet group and general manager of Lauzon Recycled Wood
Energy.

The QWEB pellet group has five wood pellet
producers in Quebec: Granulco, Granules LG, Granules de la Mauricie, Lauzon
Recycled Wood Energy, and Trebio.
