Mar. 1, 2012, Pella, IA – Vermeer Corporation continued its commitment to the organic recycling and wood waste industries when it hosted a week-long event at its Pella facility in late 2011. Factory-trained dealer specialists from the Vermeer Environmental Group were on hand to provide training for 34 recycling specialists who attended to learn more about recycling equipment and best practices in wood-waste processing, composting and biomass applications.

“A training event like this allows our dealer recycling specialists in the field to network and share successes with one another, as well as ideas. We are all a team, and communication is key,” said Jay Sarver, recycling and forestry sales manager. “We wanted to give them the tools to effectively support recycling equipment, and we had a lot of good information and new product information to share.”

The three-day training was structured for both the professional new to recycling and also the experienced veteran. Vermeer invited industry experts Eric Kinsley with Innovative Natural Resource Solutions and Biocycle Magazine Editor Nora Goldstein, who presented on the state of the industry and its current needs, as well as new initiatives for the future.

At the conclusion of the factory training, Vermeer held a two-day customer event for customers and dealers from around the globe. Vermeer staged demonstrations featuring its line of recycling and forestry equipment, including the Vermeer HG6000 Tier 4i horizontal grinder, the WC2300XL whole tree chipper and the Wildcat line of compost turners and trommel screens. This past year’s turnout was the largest to date.
