March 19, 2015 - Red Rock Biofuels, a biofuels startup company based in Fort Collins, Colo., recently received financing from a venture capital firm to assist in the construction of the company’s first production refinery in Lakeview, Ore.

The facility will convert approximately 140,000 dry tons of wood biomass into 12 million gallons of diesel, jet fuel, or hydrocarbon liquids used to make gasoline.

The company expects to break ground on the project this summer with the first fuel being produced by 2016.

If the company’s first plant meets expectations, Red Rock Biofuels will consider expansion into other countries, including Canada, according to a recent report.
