Renewable natural gas can play key role in decarbonizing transportation, heating

Ontario’s first priority toward reaching “Net Zero 2050” should be the decarbonization of transportation, the Ontario Energy Association says.

In addition to continuing moving toward electric vehicles, renewable natural gas made from organic waste should be promoted for use in long-haul trucks, the association reports.

In terms of heating buildings, the OEA’s “Net Zero 2050” report suggests renewable natural gas and hydrogen should be added to the mix.
