Renewables initiative launched in North Bay

Dec 10, 2011, North Bay, ON - The Biomass Innovation Centre at Nipissing University, with funding from the Community Energy Partnership Program, has recently launched a new project: The Blue Sky Renewable Energy Initiative.

December 10, 2011  By Scott Jamieson

This
year long initiative is intended to raise awareness, inspire action and
increase capacity for the development of renewable energy projects in
the Blue Sky Region by delivering a series of workshops with four
communities.

These workshops will help community groups
envision and evaluate the potentials for locally owned and operated
renewable-energy projects, and will give them the tools, resources and
connections to make those visions reality.

The primary objective
of this initiative is to make renewable energy information and resources
available, through the workshops and online: sharing knowledge,
experience and best practices in an open-source format.

The
initiative will also be working to assist in the formation of a Blue Sky
Renewable Energy Network, so that the four communities involved can
share their experiences and knowledge with one another. Want to know more?
