Renewable natural gas (RNG) production has increased significantly at Abbotsford, B.C.-based Fraser Valley Biogas since its acquisition earlier this year by EverGen Infrastructure Corp.

Acquired in April, Fraser Valley Biogas had been producing about 80,000 gigajoules of RNG annually, but has since increased its output by a larger margin. EverGen co-founder and CEO Chase Edgelow said the increase in production has come with minimal capital.

EverGen is working with B.C.’s ministry of the environment to amend Fraser Valley’s permit so that agricultural and food waste can be processed. The amendments will enable Fraser Valley to virtually double its RNG production later in 2022.
