SaskPower, Meadow Lake Tribal Council sign agreement for 8 MW of biomass power

The Meadow Lake Tribal Council Bioenergy Centre will soon be home to a new biomass plant, which will generate power using sawmill residuals, sawdusts and wood chips, reports DiscoverMooseJaw.com.

The company has signed a Power Purchase Agreement with SaskPower for up to eight megawatts of biomass power.

Joel Cherry, a SaskPower representative, told DiscoverMooseJaw.com that the plant is expected to produce enough power for more than 5,000 homes.
