Sep. 15, 2009, New York – Energy market research publisher SBI has released a new report: Global Biofuels Market: Opportunities, Emerging Technologies, and Production.
Offering a current and comprehensive treatment of the biofuels
market, SBI delves into the global efforts to develop
technologies that improve the refining processes associated with many
different types of biofuels and their growing consumption among nations
throughout the next few decades. Worldwide data are provided on
biorefineries, conversion and separation technologies, manufacturing,
research and development, organic biofuels, capacity, components, and
competition.

Biomass is poised to become a significant source for renewable
energy production during the next decade, with the United States leading the
growing global commitment to biofuel use. As the leading producer and
consumer of bio-based renewable energy, the United States is driving biomass
activity levels within its military, Department of Energy, and U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Biomass currently composes 10% of total renewable energy generation
in the United States. SBI forecasts that the market will claim a 12.5% share by 2014 and attributes the increase in generation to accelerated efforts among
bioenergy companies to generate electricity and liquid biofuels more
efficiently and economically. The report
examines the industry components, competitors, growth, and innovations through primary research and analysis.

"Rapid growth of organic biomass manufacturing, especially corn and
nonfood sources such as forestry products and tallow, will be evident
through 2014," says Shelley Carr, SBI publisher. SBI projects that the
$103 billion biofuels market will exceed $170 billion by 2014, with the
fastest growth for bio-based energy manufacturing in regions such as
China and India.

Outside the United States, nations worldwide are investing in the research
and development of technologies and processes that convert biomass into
electricity-generating resources and usable liquid biofuels, including
ethanol and biodiesel. Developing innovative and sustainable biomass
separation technologies that minimize negative effects on local environments and
reduce the threat to diminished food supply and other natural resources
will become a key factor for the long-term industrial and commercial
success of the biofuels industry.
