Scheer calls clean fuel standard a ‘secret fuel tax’

Conservative party leader Andrew Scheer has pledged to end the Liberal government’s Clean Fuel Standard, set to take effect in 2022, if his party wins the federal election this fall.

Scheer sent a letter to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau this morning, asking for the Liberals to scrap the Clean Fuel Standard, which he said could increase gas prices by four cents a litre.
