Scientists cite four G20 countries for their continued reliance on fossil fuels

Four G20 countries – China, Brazil, Russia and Australia – are being criticized by scientists for their continual reliance on fossil fuels.

The lead researcher for the Paris Equity Tracker analysis says major economies aren’t doing their part to tackle the climate crisis, leaving the door open for more heat waves, flooding and other catastrophic weather events.

The collective G20 countries account for about 85 per cent of the world’s emissions.
