December 30, 2015 – Effective Dec. 23, 2015, Solenis LLC, through its Brazilian subsidiary Solenis do Brasil Químicas Ltda, completed the acquisition of 100 per cent of the shares of Quimatec Produtos Químicos Ltda, a Brazilian manufacturer of specialty chemicals for the sugar and ethanol processing industry; and Locatec de Araraquara Ltda-Me, the associated logistics provider. The acquisition of Quimatec is part of Solenis’ strategy to broaden its process chemical and industrial water treatment offerings in the bioethanol market worldwide.

“The purchase of Quimatec and Locatec represents a milestone in Solenis’ growth strategy in Latin America, creating new opportunities for continued development in the region,” said John Panichella, president and CEO of Solenis. “With Quimatec, Solenis becomes a leading supplier to the most advanced bioethanol market in the world. We look forward to expanding our combined products and technologies globally.”

“This is a very exciting business venture as the Brazilian sugar market is the largest in the world,” said Wanderley Flosi Filho, Solenis vice-president, Latin America. “We welcome the Quimatec family and their talented teams and look forward to creating enhanced value for our clients.”

The company plans to leverage Quimatec’s strong sales channel to bring Solenis’ world-class water treatment offerings to Brazil’s sugar and ethanol producers, while taking Quimatec’s process chemistries and applications technology to Solenis’ heavy industry markets around the globe.
