Starwood Energy, BerQ RNG partner for developing, acquiring RNG projects

Starwood Energy Group Global has entered into an investment partnership with BerQ RNG Inc. – a developer of renewable natural gas (RNG) projects in Canada and the United States.

Starwood Energy is the majority platform owner and will operate under the name BerQ RNG. RNG projects in various stages will be developed and acquired through the new platform.

Oakville, Ont.-based BerQ’s team includes developers with backgrounds in substrates, geographies, and technologies. Its RNG projects span landfill gas, animal waste, and wastewater projects. The arrangement will see BerQ contributing its projects, team and development expertise while Starwood Energy is to contribute its existing farm-based RNG investments and fund the platform.
