
Surrey shows how green energy works effectively

Surrey, B.C.’s West Village Energy Centre – a district energy utility that services a number of residential, commercial and institutional buildings in the district – is an example of how the city is effectively delivering renewable energy to its residents and businesses.
“In 2021, we plan to expand this renewable energy network even further as new buildings come on stream in Surrey’s bustling City Centre,” Mayor Doug McCallum told the Indo-Canadian Voice.
The West Village Energy Centre’s renewable natural gas is produced from organic waste at the Surrey Biofuel Facility.
