TransCanada Corp. terminates coal-power deals in Alberta

March 15, 2016 - The CBC has reported that TransCanada Corp. has backed out of its deals to buy power from three coal-fired plants in Alberta.

According to the report, TransCanada Corp. and opposition politicians cited the provincial NDP’s climate change policies as the reason for the decision, but others believe the real reason is declining electricity prices.
