U.S. biofuel producers, political backers not sold on switch to electric-powered cars

Now is the time to increase sales of ethanol and biodiesel and not to abandon them, biofuels producers in the United States suggest.

President Joe Biden has proposed spending billions of dollars for 500,000 electric vehicle charging stations. The shift to electric vehicles from liquid-fueled is something that biofuel producers and their backers in Congress say isn’t the right path to take at this time.

They argue biofuels are needed for the foreseeable future.
