UK biomass power subsidies cut 63%

The Department for Energy and Climate Change (DECC) was planning to launch the
Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) for non-domestic generators on September
30, but the EC expressed concerns that the biomass tariff, at 2.7 pence
per kilowatt-hour (KWh), was set too high.

According to a Reuters report, the DECC cut the proposed subsidy for large generators by 1.7 pence per kilowatt-hour down to 1 pence per kilowatt-hour, and the program will now be delayed into November.
