May 4, 2012 – A report by the Sustainable Venture Intelligence states
that the Renewable Heat Initiative could spur the purchase of a large
number of biomass boilers and other renewable energy products by the
middle of this decade in the UK.
According to an article posted on Business Green, the report forecasts a "steady, though not
spectacular, establishment" of the renewable heat market from now until
2014, followed by explosive growth in the middle of the decade, and then
a "hangover period" at the end of the decade as the market
consolidates.
The report also claims that medium-sized boilers will be the most attractive, mainly due to their prevalence in the public-commercial housing market. And as falling technology costs coincide with government subsidies, demand will very quickly rise.
