U.S. ethanol exports to Canada drop

March 11, 2014, Washington, D.C. – Ethanol exports from U.S.
manufacturers to the Canadian market dropped significantly in January of 2014
despite a jump in overall export volume for the United States.
According to an article from the Renewable Fuels Association,
the U.S. shipped a total of 86.2 million gallons of ethanol in January, the
largest monthly export volume since December of 2011.
Canada imported 18.8 million gallons of ethanol from the
U.S. in January, a 36 per cent drop from the month before. As a result, Canada
dropped to the number two importer of U.S. ethanol behind Brazil.
