Vancouver’s ‘greenest city in the world’ aspirations have come up short of timeframe

Vancouver has come up short in its goal of becoming the greenest city in the world by 2020, according to Canada’s National Observer.
The city set a number of lofty goals in 2008, but has met only six of its 20 quantitative targets. In its quest toward decarbonization, Vancouver still ranks as one of North America’s “greenest” cities, but has yielded the global honour to Copenhagen, Denmark.
The article suggests Vancouver is an example of a city hampered by a lack of funding and put up against government interests.
