Work begins on $23-million renewable energy hub at UBC in Vancouver

Work has begun on a new $23-million renewable energy hub at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver.
An entire city block is being transformed into an energy district to include the first hydrogen refuelling station for light and heavy-duty vehicles in the province.
B.C.’s Ministry of Energy, Mines and Low Carbon Innovation has contributed $5.6 million toward the project in low-carbon fuel standard credits. Other funding is coming from the Canada Foundation for Innovation, BC Knowledge Development Fund, Natural Resources Canada, Western Economic Diversification Canada and industry partners.
