WPAC publishes new fact sheets on pellet sustainability for Japanese customers

January 25, 2021
By WPAC

Wood pellet producers in Canada are committed to environmental sustainability, and demonstrate that commitment by sourcing responsible fibre from sustainably managed forests and transparently sharing information on our operations and our practices.

Canadian wood pellets are greening power production globally, replacing fossil fuels and helping reduce carbon emissions. Japan is a significant customer of Canadian wood pellets, as the country looks to lower emissions while reducing reliance on nuclear power.

In support of information-sharing with our valued Japanese customers, the Wood Pellet Association of Canada has released a suite of materials in Japanese. Available online, these fact sheets provide a comprehensive overview of pellet production in Canada and the sectors sustainability credentials. These materials will also be available in other languages in the near future.

While these new Japanese language resources provide a robust overview of the Canadian pellet sector, WPAC would also like to remind our customers of the upcoming Asia Pellet Conference and encourage registration for all those interested in learning more about sustainably sourced and produced wood pellets from Canada. Visit the conference website here.
