WPAC’s Maritime members produce video highlighting the power of pellets

For every problem there is an opportunity. That was the case when WPAC’s planning committee was faced with the challenge of showcasing bioenergy to nearly 300 guests attending our first-ever Maritime Bioheat Conference.

Two years ago, we would have arranged a tour to take guests to the forest to the plant and ultimately to the end-users – the facilities using bioheat. As we all know, COVID-19 has challenged us in many ways to be more innovative.

For our members, the solution became obvious: produce a short video to kick off the conference. The result is this short six-minute video that highlights the power of pellets – not only for meeting heating and energy needs, but as a way to support healthy local economies and forests. The business case is clear – 90 per cent of the heating costs associated with wood pellets stays in the region: creating employment and displacing fossil fuels.
